WASHINGTON | The Washington Wizards waived second-round draft pick Rod Grizzard on Friday.
Grizzard was a long shot to make the team because of a broken leg that kept him out of minicamp and summer league games. He was limited last week at training camp and did not play in the Wizards first exhibition game Thursday night.
The 6-foot-8 guard from Alabama was the 39th overall pick in the draft. He averaged 14.1 points and 6.1 rebounds as a junior last season.
